As once a college student, it has been a struggle to practice my Catholic faith. Despite my devotion to Our Mother of Perpetual Help, I never went to the Sacrament of Penance until I started working. Honestly, it was a bit of a struggle since it was after 10 years that I have been finally cleansed again. I stepped into the confession box with only one phrase memorized, “Bless me Father for I have sinned”, then I tried to reveal all my sins randomly. It was all over the place! That’s why I collected some of the Examination of Conscience for College Students Guides I find helpful for download.
Just like the normal examen, go into a quiet place. Start by praying and read through the guide.
Here are some of the Examination of Conscience for College Students Guides.
Simple Examination of Conscience Guide
This is what I use. Since I have scrupulosity, I prefer simple guides. This one is based on 10 Commandments divided into 2 parts, reflection on your relationship with God and reflection with Family, Friends, and Neighbors. There is also a simple guide based on 7 deadly sins, check this out.
Detailed Examination of Conscience Guide
If you want to contemplate on a detailed examen, this one is for you. It is composed of examination of conscience questions based on 10 Commandments and the Precepts of the Church which I find very helpful as well. It also contains a Confession Guide and prayer such as Act of Contrition.
