The devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus began when the Lord had a series of visitation to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque from 1673 to 1675, explaining how He wanted everyone to practice it. The Feast Day of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is June 11.
Testimony
This devotion has a very special place in my heart. It all started when I worked in my third job as an Accountant. The building has an underground Chapel named Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel. The place solemnly celebrates Mass every working day. While on the First Friday of the Month, they held the Mass in the Auditorium where more people could flock because of its larger capacity. They also consistently post an announcement in front of the entrance door and in the elevator.
This is when I began attending the Mass consecutively in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. From then on, my devotion continues. Despite my resignation from my last job, I am still attending Mass every first Friday of the month.
Actually, I do not know the complete promises that can be obtained in this devotion, but I still keep on doing it because somehow I feel, when I honor Him, I also console His heart from not only my sins but also the sins of mankind. Aside from that, I also feel I have a Friend Who understands me, Who is always willing to listen, Who I could trust.
More than the graces, the devotion gives me security, that my heart is not alone, that I am not alone.
How to do the devotion to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus?
To obtain the promises of the Sacred of Heart of Jesus, one must be in a state of grace to be able to receive the Holy Communion every First Friday of the Nine (9) consecutive months. You can start in any month.
