Who is St. Jude Thaddeus?
St. Jude Thaddeus was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ. He was present in the Pentecost thus attributed with the flame around his head. In the visions of St. Bridget of Sweden and St. Bernard, God asked them to accept St. Jude as the Patron Saint of the Impossible. His feast day is on October 28.
Testimony
It was in my college days that St. Jude Thaddeus was introduced to me. Since our degree was hard, and we witnessed how our fellow students flocked to the Shrine to ask for help with their studies; my friends and I decided to say a prayer to St. Jude to intercede for us. Fast forward, we are all now accountants. And we know that the Patron Saint of Lost Causes helped us achieved it.
When I passed the licensure examination for Certified Public Accountant, I made a first Thursday devotion to St. Jude until the examination dates. I remember how heavy rain did not stop me to visit him before our most awaited exams. In God’s grace through the prayer of Saint of Hopeless Causes, I made it! And I know, my story is just one of the millions of testimonies to the intercessory power of St. Jude.
The term desperate or lost causes attached to the patronage of St. Jude Thaddeus is quite general, whether it be something about health, studies, finances, romantic relationship, career, protection, or family as long as it is close to being remote in possibility, you can always rely on St. Jude. Just have faith, surely he will help you.
Below is the prayer to Saint Jude Thaddeus. I pray this every first Thursday when I was still studying. But now, I pray it every Thursday. You can also use it for a Novena. Just pray it repeatedly for nine (9) consecutive days or First Thursdays.
